From the mailbox to the back of the house, there were giraffes.
His banners hung in the hallway and kitchen celebrating the birthday boy. (Ben's Mommy was crafty!).
His "monthly monkey pics" were displayed on the mantle. Ben's friend's goody bags were "giraffed" as well.
Lots of yummy snacks were ready to be devoured. We had chicken salad rolls, meatballs with sweet/sour sauce, sandwich rolls, spinach dip, cheese dip, veggies and lots of crackers and goldfish. Chocolate and yellow cupcakes were topped with giraffe cupcake toppers and were just waiting to the eaten. The table was sprinkled with giraffe confetti (gotta love etsy.com).
Ben was served his giraffe cake (again, etsy.com) with a "1" candle ready to be blown out. Bashful Ben (who we don't see too often) wasn't sure what to think of this. But once the candle was blown out (with the help of his Mommy and Daddy), he went into the "zone". The cake was quickly torn a part and eaten with delight.
Ben's friends were so sweet to spend the afternoon with us. It was a wonderful day and we are so unbelievably grateful for everything. Ben had a wonderful birthday weekend! So, here's to year 2!!!
