Oh, they'll have problems sleeping, favoring one side and eating changes.
Oh, they'll have fever, problems sleeping, and eating changes.
The list for probable ear infections signs change with the person you are talking to. So, when your little one presents with some of these signs, a parent thinks, "Could this be an ear infection?"
When Ben was 4 months old, he was having ZERO symptoms, yet, our pediatrician said his right ear was infected. Since then, there have been days where Ben shows signs of the "classic ear infection" and we head to the doctor's office....only to be told he is fine. Well, one of those days was yesterday. Ben was pulling on his right ear and a little fussy. No fever, no eating changes, no sleeping problems, but was acting like that side was bothering him. So, we pack up and head to the office for our 11:15 appointment. After he looked at his ears, we were told that his ears were fine. And that teething symptoms resemble ear infection symptoms.
The good news is that Ben's ears are fine, the bad news is the mystery of the ear infection symptoms continue. Oh, well, for now, the cost of our co-pay is worth the peace of mind knowing his ears of ok.
The pictures below were taken today.....since Ben's Dad was at work, we communicate throughout the visit w/ pics and texts.
(By the way, paper covered tables make for the perfect toy for a 6 month old)
