How do a brother and sister in 2012 who live in two very different places communicate and are extremely busy most every day? Working full time and a full time mommy of 2. Birmingham and Chicago. Text and email!! So a few weeks ago, I get an email that contains a link to a gorgeous diamond ring. One that he is getting for Meghan. Then a few weeks later, with a text, he tells me how he is going to propose. We email back and forth. We text back and forth. Then, on Monday, I get a text that says, "Meghan said YES!!!!"
We are so happy for the newly engaged couple. And I know my Dad is too. About 1 year ago, before we lost my Dad, he was able to give Allen his blessing. Then after we lost him, my mom gave Allen my Dad's wedding band. This simple gold band represents so much and Allen wants to wear it as his band. What a symbol of love. After all, no one loved and represented unconditional love more than my Dad.
Congrats to the Allen and Meghan....also known as Uncle Allen and now Aunt Meg!!
