Being a winter baby, we have had to protect Ben from the cold (even in Alabama) with thick socks, warm clothes, fuzzy blankets, adorable/silly winter hats. Our pediatrician advised us to keep Ben indoors unless we just had no other choice and limit exposure to crowds. Once the words FLU SEASON were spoken, my germaphobic tendencies went into high gear!! One of the first things a new mom wants to do is pack their new little one up and head out into the world.....and actually use the carseat, stroller, and diaper bag that have been ready to go for about 6 mths!! Well, a November birth put a halt to this. We stayed at home for about 6 weeks straight. Except for a doctor visit or a trip to his grandparent's house, Ben was at his house. After 6 weeks, we were able to go places, but because it was still cold, we limited our outings. We would grab lunch with friends and go shopping at the mall, but for the most part we laid low.
Well, spring has arrived! It is so fun to put Ben in the stroller and go for a nice walk in the neighborhood. He is finally able to wear the cute summer clothes he was given. And today, we went spring/summer clothes shopping. Oh, my, how adorable are baby shorts and rompers? His chubby (and very pale) legs and feet are exposed as he now gets to wear a whole new wardrobe. I have always loved spring when the grass turns green, the flowers blum, and the sun shines bright. And now, Ben gets to experience it too!!
