The Making of a Toothy Smile

After weeks and weeks of drooling, chewing and gnawing, Baby Ben's first tooth is finally starting to make its way out.  On the front bottom left gum, a tiny little spot has now grown into a little hole.  It is so hard to believe Ben will one day soon have a white tooth there....and then have 20!  That gummy smile will change into a smile full of teeth.
As painful as this process has probably been, Ben has handled it pretty well.  For those of you who know him, he is pretty laid back.  He is usually all smiles and giggles.  But there have been moments where happy Baby Ben was not so happy.  Usually a few moments of fussing will soon be followed by a great amount of happiness.
Trying to make the process easier for him has been challenging.  He has worn a  bib full time so that I'm not having to change his clothes every five seconds, plus, it gives him something to chew on.  I have received loads of advice, but every baby is so different.  The things that have helped the most are:

His best friend Sophie:

Frozen Pacies (Thanks so much, Lindsey):

Razbaby Razberry Teether:

Sweet Ben is growing so fast and making so many changes.  It seems that the changes used to occur by the week....now they are by the day.  This new change is going to allow our precious boy to chew yummy foods, speak outloud his amazing thoughts and ideas and smile for that school picture.  So, I'll take the drooling, the fussing, the gnawing and try my best to make it as painless as possible because these teeth are going to make Ben.....Ben!!
