One Year Ago Today.........

One year ago today, we announced the upcoming arrival of our baby. We found out I was pregnant and decided to only tell our families until we saw the doctor. I had to wait until I was 8 weeks pregnant to get the first ultrasound. Laying on that table, eagerly waiting for the screen to show our baby was probably one of the most intense moments of my life. (However, NOTHING compared to the moments right before he was delivered!). The grainy black and white screen all of a sudden became clear. This tiny "baby shaped" image appeared on the screen. She outlined our Baby and we laughed as we saw this Sumo Wrestler. And there, in the center, was the blinking dot. Our baby's heartbeat. There was no sound at first...then, she turned up the volume and there was this loud and strong beating. At only 2 cm long, a heart beat was heard. From this point in time onward, our Baby grew at an unbelievable and inconceivable rate. April 1, 2010, we saw our baby for the first time. Now, one year later, we have a 21 week old Baby Ben who has blessed our lives with his sweet smile, adorable laugh, and precious spirit. No April's Fools joke......this was one announcement that was absolutely 100% true.......we were going to have a baby!!!
