A sad little guy named Ben has been dealing with a cough, runny nose, and now an ear infection. I call right when they open to get an appointment. At 930, we head to the Pediatrician's office. (HUGE blessing from my mom today as she got up early, brought us breakfast, and then stayed the day!)
Ben usually runs around the waiting room...not today. He held Thomas the Train pillow and his Elmo tight as he rested in my lap. He rarely fusses or cries....but sad Ben was very sad sad boy this morning. As we waited on the Doctor, he dozed in my lap. I hate so much that he wasn't feeling well, but sure loved holding him as he napped. A quick assessment from the doctor......ear infection, lungs clear, negative flu test. As we waited to get the prescription and plan, Ben started to feel better. He opens the door and waves at the nurses. He loves the hand sanitizer and the little chair. He really can make any place fun!
As we leave the office, he says hello to one of the other Doctors there. He is given 2 stickers and struts his little self out the door. He stops to look at the "oinaments" on the Christmas tree. As we get back to the car, he says, "Target?" So, we head to Target to waste time before his ear drops are ready. He gets his icey and we do a little shopping. He just loves Target and all that it offers. As we head back to the car, he starts coughing. Then as he is sitting in his seat, he says, "throw up". I said, "no, you are fine" (this usually works as his new thing to say after coughing is "throw up".) Well, lets just say he wasn't fine. There in the backseat of the car, he throws up the RED icey! I strip him to his diaper and NBs, wipe him down with wipes, and pack him back into the car.
What a day and it wasn't even noon yet. Ben goes straight in the house and takes a nice long nap.
So glad Ben is on the mend! It's another story for the backseat of my car!!
