The end of another era has arrived. This afternoon, Ben's soft, cuddly lamb swing has been taken apart and put away. It was a bit sad to watch as Marc disassembled the swing. A part of our living room for so many months is being put away. We have rearranged the furniture a few times as Ben has grown, but the swing was a staple. At Christmas, we decorated around it. It has had a home in our living room for almost 9 months.
So many memories have occurred in the last (almost) 9 months. My sweet hostesses gave Ben the Fisher Price My Little Lamb Swing at his Baby Shower. When I was approaching my due date, Marc and I put the swing together and placed it in the living room. We thought about the perfect spot......not too close to the TV or speakers....not too close to the window. And there it sat until Baby Ben came home.
When we brought Ben home, we placed him in it. We didn't turn it on....because 1st time parents are scared of everything!! He looked so tiny surrounded by all the white fluffy fabrics. Later on (not too long later), we turned it on. He rode and rode this swing! (Lots of batteries have been used to keep this swing going).
This swing is where Ben was when the doggies first "met" him.
This swing is where Ben took 1000 and one naps.
This swing is where he was when Auburn won the National Championship.
The swing is where he would ride side to side....back to front. He would watch his mobile spin and listen to the music.
The swing has been such a part of not only our living room, but also, our life. Today, Ben got to watched his Daddy take the swing apart. He is too big for the swing....but now just the right size to crawl, pull to stand, and cruise the furniture. The end of one era only means the beginning of so many more!!

I am very superstitious, so the swing may have to come back out when football season starts if it will help Auburn win!!
