Operation Christmas Child

The idea of sharing is a very difficult task to learn and very difficult to teach.  This Christmas, we decided to introduce the idea of giving to Ben in a very fun way.

The Samaritan's Purse does the Operation Christmas Child.  You pick Boy or Girl and Age then fill a shoebox with anything that a child would love.  Toys, toothbrush, toothpaste, crayons, stickers, socks, etc.  These boxes are sent around the world .... and become a Christmas gift.....maybe the only Christmas gift these children ever receive.

I explained to Ben what we were going to do and why and we headed to the store.  My Mom pushed Ben and I had Abby.  We shopped for a boy and a girl.  We picked lots of fun things for our boxes.  We let Ben help choose between things and throw the items in the boxes.

Ben kept saying "children" as we filled the boxes to the brim.

The idea of giving has been presented and seems to have been very successful.  Now on to sharing....oh boy, this could be a bit more difficult!!
